"August: Osage County" New York Premiere - Red Carpet

Most people would love a chance to get to know their favorite celebrity.  What could be better than sharing a few moments with someone you’ve always respected and admired. Even within that group, there are also a lot of people who would love the chance to go on a date with the star of their dreams.  However, unfortunately for most people, that simply isn’t realistic.  The sad truth is that the closest a lot of people will ever get to meeting their favorite star is reading about them on the Internet.  But for these people, their dreams of getting to know their favorite celebrity came true when their paths unexpectedly crossed.  Almost immediately after meeting, all of these fans hit it off with their favorite celebrities, and romantic relationships were formed.  Here are 10 celebrities who married their biggest fans.

Reese Witherspoon

attends the TOM FORD Autumn/Winter 2015 Womenswear Collection Presentation at Milk Studios in Los Angeles on February 20, 2015.

In 2011, Reese Witherspoon married talent agent and fan, Jim Toth.  Witherspoon is a client at the agency Toth works for, so essentially, he’s kind of paid to be her biggest fan.  However, Toth has always considered himself a fan of Witherspoon’s work.  Although the two had some rough patches in their relationship, the two seem to be doing much better and just a few months ago, Witherspoon stated: “Well, I have to say a very healing part of my life is my wonderful husband, Jim. It’s really wonderful being with somebody who supports me, who loves me, who is my number-one fan.”

Kelsey Grammer is currently on his fourth marriage, and hopefully his last.  While married to his third wife, Camille, Grammer met flight attendant Katye Wash who was a huge Frasier fan.  The two began dating, and the rest is history.  Although the start of their relationship may seem wrong to some, Grammer claims that his previous wife was only with him for the money and the fame, and now he genuinely seems happier than ever before.

Patrick Dempsey

2014 Geneva Motor Show

There are millions of fans who would have loved to get their hands on Patrick Dempsey AKA McDreamy.  However, only one lucky fan will be able to say that she got the chance to marry her favorite celebrity.  More than 15 years ago, when hairstylist Jillian Fink saw Dempsey’s name in her appointment book she couldn’t believe it.  The two hit it off, and were married in 1999.  Dempsey and Fink have three children together, and although they once seemed like a happy couple, Fink filed for divorce earlier this year. Hopefully Dempsey’s hair will be able to survive life without her.

Ruben Studdard

43rd Annual GMA Dove Awards - Red Carpet

Lots of couples have incredibly romantic stories about the first time they met each other.  However, Ruben Studdard’s story s a little less romantic.  Apparently, Studdard and his ex-wife Surata McCants met in 2006 while Studdard was signing a CD for her at a Walmart in Atlanta.  Although Studdard thought he had finally found true love, the couple began divorce proceedings in 2011.  Walmart is a great place to go for a lot of things, but it looks like love isn’t one of them.

Unlike some other celebrities, Steve Harvey met his wife very early on in his career.  Although Harvey did not marry his third wife, Marjorie Bridges, until 2007, the couple actually met at a comedy club in 1990.  Bridges, who was a huge fan of Harvey’s standup was flattered when he addressed her during the show and stated, “I don’t know who you are but I’m going to marry you.”  The couple began dating, but things didn’t work out initially.  Fortunately, they were able to rekindle the flame and live out Harvey’s initial dream.

John Travolta

John Travolta’s wife, Kelly Preston, has always considered herself a very big John Travolta fan – especially after seeing Grease.  According to Preston, “I came out of a film, saw the poster for Grease and I knew I’d be with him. I just knew. I was about 16 years old. I really knew it and it turned into, ‘I’m going to marry that man.'”  Well clearly Kelly Preston has the ability to see the future, because in 1991, the couple tied the knot. Although the couple has had to deal with some serious struggles throughout their marriage, including the death of their oldest son, they have managed to work through their problems.

Matt Damon is another celebrities whose story about how he met his wife, Luciana Barroso,  is anything but glamorous.  The couple met while Damon was hiding in a bar trying to avoid a group of fans, and Luciana, who was a big fan herself, was happy to help him out. Their relationship quickly blossomed into a full-on romance, and the couple has been happily married for more than 10 years. During an interview, Damon stated, “I got lucky. I fell in love with a civilian. Not an actress and not a famous actress at that. Because then the attention doesn’t double – it grows exponentially. Because then suddenly everybody wants to be in your bedroom.”

Julia Roberts

Premiere Of The Weinstein Company's "August: Osage County" - Red Carpet

As a photographer, Julia Roberts’ husband was Daniel Moder, was a fan who had always admired her from afar. Although Roberts is clearly the bigger star in this equation, rumor has it that she made the first move. Although Roberts and Moder don’t spend a lot of time in the headlines, they’re still a lot of people’s favorite couple, and hopefully they’ll also continue to be a success story.
